I think my essay lacks feeling. It's hard to insert humor into such a technical-sounding essay. I'm also having trouble formulating the philosophical ideas in my essay. It feels really difficult to put my thoughts into words when dealing with this topic.
I am trying to outline the evolution of information sharing and encyclopedic knowledge, and how the internet has affected it. I suggest hypothetically that there could be a resource in the future that combines the goals of Wikipedia, About.com, and websites such as Howcast.com. When researching a topic, a vast variety of relevant information would be available.
The philosophical message in the essay deals with the beauty of free information. Being able to easily communicate and share information with people in one's community allows information to evolve extremely quickly. I spent a lot of time talking about the cycle of information progress, and I think I got the point across. It really just needs a lot of cleaning up.
